How is the San Diego Ronald McDonald House affected by COVID-19 pandemic?

The San Diego Ronald McDonald House is following all local, state, and federal public health directives. As an essential community resource, we continue to operate at capacity, providing overnight lodging to 56 families each night. Our mission has always been to keep families close to their hospitalized child, and maintaining our presence just 300 steps from the children’s hospital achieves over-arching community-wide aims to limit public mobility and minimize impact on the neediest families.

Imagine being away from home, and having a sick or injured child in the hospital today. Our Ronald McDonald House is full of families in this situation. Our House IS their home right now, and we are doing our best to serve them safely with limited resources.

We appreciate your consideration of our San Diego Ronald McDonald House to enable us to continue our important work during these challenging times.

How is the San Diego Giving Back Raffle affected by COVID-19 pandemic?

Our organization is fully committed to operating the raffle in a manner as consistent with established raffle rules and regulations as conditions allow. We are fortunate to have staff, support and infrastructure in place that allows for the continuation of the raffle in a manner that conforms to prevailing community health protocols. Thanks to the commitment of our team during these trying times, we anticipate no impact on ticket deadlines, drawing dates, or prizes as specified in the rules.

We wanted to make you aware of precautionary measures that have been taken, described below. Your customer experience matters to us, and through the process of refining some processes and procedures, we have also instituted welcome additions to ease your ticket purchasing process. Here are the updates:

  1. Conforming to statewide shelter-in-place directive, we are temporarily suspending in-person ticket sales at our Ronald McDonald House. You are still able to order by phone, by fax, or by sending ticket orders. If you do stop by our facility, we can receive your order form but cannot offer additional customer service, such as photocopy or change.
  2. Requests for printed ticket stubs will be processed beginning in May. Printed raffle ticket stubs are neither necessary nor a substitute for proof of identification to claim a prize.

  4. The San Diego Giving Back Concert is scheduled to be held on or about November 14, 2020. We are actively monitoring the status of the pandemic alongside our sponsors and stadium partners, and will keep you apprised of any changes to the concert schedule.
  5. Travel prizes are valid 12 months from date of issue, unless otherwise specified. Please note that all our travel prizes carry “or cash” designations to afford winners maximum flexibility in their prize choice.

We thank you for your understanding as we continue to strive to present you with the best raffle experience possible. For 16 years, charitable raffle fundraisers have provided a fun outlet for the community to contribute to our cause, while providing vital funding to our San Diego Ronald McDonald House.
