The need continues to grow. Each year, our Ronald McDonald House provides more than 29,000 lodging nights, yet more than 30 families remain on the waitlist each night. About Our San Diego Ronald McDonald House

Since 1980, the San Diego Ronald McDonald House has provided a true home away from home for families whose child is receiving medical care for serious, often life-threatening conditions. When a child is hospitalized, staying close matters, and your support helps make that possible.

Located just 300 steps from the children’s hospital, our House offers families the comforts and stability of home at a time when everything else feels uncertain. Families find a warm meal, a place to rest, and a supportive community, all designed to strengthen family bonds and support emotional well-being during difficult days.

Our House is unique in San Diego. We are the only program of our kind that welcomes families caring for children receiving treatment at any San Diego area hospital, ensuring no family has to face a medical crisis alone.
